After you have removed the cover after removing the old cover, you can use a flathead for prying the four major attachment clips from the driver side of fob assembly. These are marked with red on the image below. Take note of the yellow tabs that need to be deactivated.
After removing the battery replace it with a brand new 3 volt coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery is pointing to the opening in the fob, and that the"-" negative side is facing the rubber buttons.
